Fuel list changelog! - See what's different in this version!
The fuel lists are now on Github! Feel free to submit pull requests to add fuels or correct errors!
So, this site is incredibly old now. It was first created in 2013, and has changed quite a bit since then.
While it works fine for the most part, I hate it a lot. It's very outdated.
As a developer I've learned a lot of things since I made it. And I would not make it like this now.
So, I want to ask, would you like a more modern version of the old faithful Boiler Calculator?
This version will continue to be available, but I'd like to also provide a better, more modern version.
Please fill out this survey to help me decide!

Railcraft Boiler Calculator
Fuel Simulation Mode lets you input a specific amount of fuel and see how long the boiler will run. In this mode each phase can be disabled by unticking the respective checkbox. Fuel is input in either of the two boxes. The first represents stacks, and the second single items. Both accept decimals, so you can for example enter 0.5 in the first box to get half a stack (32) of your selected fuel, or enter 0.5 in the second box to run on half an item.
Fuel Simulation Mode
Results from Fuel Simulation Mode:
- Skipped: Heatup Phase deselected
- Ran for 3 hours, 26 minutes & 7 seconds before running out of fuel
- Used 100% of given fuel
- Used 10240k heat units (6400 items/buckets)
- Skipped: Cooldown Phase deselected
Ran for a total of 3 hours, 26 minutes & 7 seconds (Heatup Phase + Run Phase)
Used a total of 6400 items/buckets.
This calculator will tell you how much fuel of a certain type is needed to heat up a cold boiler to it's maximum temperature (Heatup Only), or tell you how long it will run with the given fuel (Fuel Simulation) or finally tell you how much fuel is required to keep the boiler running a set time (Time Simulation).
